Powhatan County Public Schools is preparing to adopt textbook materials for K-5 language arts. The school system will hold the first round of materials review from September 8-October 26. Materials will be on display in designated areas within each elementary school building and at the Powhatan County Public Library. School administrators, faculty/staff members, and community stakeholders are invited to review and provide feedback on these materials until October 26. Once materials have been reviewed, a committee consisting of educators and community members will analyze the review feedback to determine which set of materials will be selected at the top choice for round one. The second round of curriculum review will take place in January or February of 2024.
If you have any questions regarding this textbook materials review, please contact Tracey Ingle, English Instructional Specialist, at tracey.ingle@powhatan.k12.va.us or at (804) 598-5700, ext. 140.
