Building Maintenance Updates

In accordance with EPA regulations, Powhatan County Public Schools has an Asbestos Management Plan in place. A copy of the plan is available for your review in the office of each school building. Asbestos information will be made available annually for Powhatan Middle School. Information about asbestos inspections, response actions, and post-response action activities, including periodic re-inspection and surveillance activities that are planned or in progress, will be posted on the website and available in the main office. Powhatan Strong: Family Connection Series

Powhatan County Public Schools Student Services Department welcomes you to our monthly Virtual Coffee Chats titled Powhatan Strong: Family Connection Series. Each month, Student Services will present a different topic with strategies to support your students from home, policies and procedures at the division and school levels, and opportunities to ask questions of our Student Services Department members and guest panelists.

2025-26 PHS Football Expectations

Tickets can be purchased online via Gofan.co.
We recommend avoiding cash purchases if possible.
Gates will open for entry at 6 pm.
Guests who have pre-purchased tickets on Gofan.co (preferred) may enter through any open gate or the main ticket booth at the top of the stairs.
Tickets can also be bought on-site via GoFan.co on your phone.
After purchasing, proceed through the gates to enter the stadium.
Guests with passes should enter through the double gates located to the far left of the ticket booth.
Bags, posters, powder, noisemakers, footballs/balls, and outside food and beverages are not allowed.
Face masks are permitted for health reasons but must not cover the entire face (e.g., ski masks are not allowed).
Due to anticipated large crowds, we advise arriving early to minimize wait times.
Re-entry to the stadium is not permitted once guests leave.
The Home Side of the stadium is the side closest to the concession stand.
Fans should remain seated during the game, except when purchasing concessions or moving between locations, for safety and visibility reasons.
Standing is prohibited in the following areas:
- In front of the bathroom/paved entryway
- On the ramps leading to the stands
- Along any pathway used by guests
Adults should accompany middle school-aged children and younger guests, who should enjoy the game from their seats.
High school students without transportation should have their ride ready to pick them up immediately after the game ends.
- We will remind students about this during the 4th quarter.
Please remember that schools are alcohol, tobacco, vape, drug, and weapon-free zones, including all after-school activities and events.
All other school rules and expectations are also in effect.

PCPS Dress Code

Headgear, including hats, caps, head coverings, hoods, and bandanas may not be worn inside the building except for any religious head covering, or with prior administrative approval for reasonable, extenuating circumstances.
Sunglasses shall not be worn inside the school building unless prescribed by a physician.
No spaghetti straps may be worn in grades six and above. Clothing must adequately cover the stomach (midriff) and lower back. Minimal exposure of the upper back and upper chest is permitted, as long as the overall appearance remains appropriate for a school setting.
No part of undergarments should be showing or worn as outer garments.
Students may not wear shorts, skirts, dresses, or similar clothing that has an inseam shorter than 3 inches. Swimming trunks cuts-off may not be worn.
Sleepwear is prohibited.
Footwear must be worn at all times. Bedroom shoes, house slippers, and bare feet are not allowed. Shoe and boot laces must be tied or straps must be strapped at all times. Footwear should be appropriate for instructional activities.
Clothing, jewelry, accessories, or body art with language or images that are discriminatory, obscene, relating to alcohol, tobacco, drugs, sex, profanity, obscenity, vulgarity, violence, that is demeaning any group or individual, or that promotes conduct contrary to the Powhatan County Public Schools guide to Student Rights and Responsibilities is prohibited. This includes written or graphic material which intimidates or threatens individuals based on their race, national origin, disability or religion, including language or images of Confederate flags, swastikas, KKK references, or any other images that might reasonably be considered intimidating to others (per policy JFHA). Any item of clothing, jewelry, or other accessory which is distracting or dangerous will not be allowed. This includes, but is not limited to, studded items, chains or other straps hanging from the waist, any sharp objects, and costumes that have not been approved by administration.

VSBA Scholarship Opportunity

The Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) is thrilled to announce a brand-new scholarship opportunity designed to support high school seniors across the Commonwealth! The VSBA Board of Directors Regional Scholarship recognizes students who excel in academics, leadership, and community service, providing them with financial support to pursue their post-secondary education.

- Selected recipients will be honored during the 2026 VSBA Regional Spring Networking Forums.
