Paula Duncan named the 2027 Region 1 Teacher of the Year by the Virginia Department of Education!

Powhatan High School teacher Paula Duncan has been named the FY2027 Region 1 Teacher of the Year by the Virginia Department of Education. A 25-year veteran of Powhatan County Public Schools and Social Studies Department Chair, Duncan was recognized for her exceptional teaching, leadership, and dedication to students. She now advances as Region 1’s representative in the statewide Virginia Teacher of the Year program.
