Fusing together the social science disciplines such as civics, economics, geography and history, the goal of the history and social science program in Powhatan County Public Schools is to help students develop the ability to make informed and reasoned decisions for themselves and the public good as citizens of a culturally diverse, democratic society in an interdependent, ever-changing world.
