2025 Summer School Offerings
- Summer School Bus Routes
  - School Start Times - 2025-2026 School Year
    - Drop Off Begins: 7:20 a.m.
    - School Starts: 7:35 a.m.
    - Dismissal: 2:25 p.m.
  - Also, a reminder that the first day of school, Monday, August 18th, will be just for 6th grade students. (All staff will still report on the first day of school.)

Color Our World - This summer, we would like you to take time and read a book that you enjoy that goes along with this year’s theme, Color Our World (anything that celebrates creativity or shows the power of how stories bring life and meaning to our world)! You can find a book at the local library, the book store, or check in with your classroom teacher. Once you read your book of 100 pages or more, please choose one of the activities below to complete and return to your English teacher when you return to school in August.

Powhatan County Public Schools encourages families to explore the valuable literacy resources available through the Virginia Department of Education. These tools are designed to support student learning and success both in the classroom and at home.
Be sure to visit the "Family Supports for Reading" section in the VDOE Resource Hub, which includes helpful strategies, tips, and fun activities to strengthen reading skills and inspire a love of reading at home.
By working together, we can give every student the tools they need to grow as confident, capable readers.
