American Rescue Plan
On 6.8.21, the School Board received information about the American Rescue Plan (ARP). You may review the presentation on Board Docs. http://go.boarddocs.com/vsba/powhatan/Board.nsf/goto?open&id=C3KPCR637B7A
Funds from this plan must address effects of COVID-19 on school operations. We are seeking community input in two ways.
Review the presentation linked above and submit a recommendation using this online form. https://forms.gle/UPZFRFNwpCpxG1XM6
Volunteer to participate in a committee to review the ARP process and work with other stakeholders to identify potential needs for the funding. This will take place during the week of July 19. Please complete an application. https://forms.gle/FHR2mtCTdnD5KUYE8
We are excited to let you know we are adopting a new system (2021) named Operoo.
The Operoo system makes it very easy for you to respond to forms using your mobile phone, tablet, or PC. No more paperwork! No more lost forms or notes covered in a squashed banana in a backpack. No more concerns about children missing out on information when they are absent.
It will greatly reduce the burden on you to provide information that is repetitive. For example, it will allow you to keep your or your child’s emergency contact and medical information up to date; so you don’t need to repeat this information again while your child is at Powhatan County Schools. It also puts you in control of this data so you’ll always know what information is shared with us.
You don’t need to do anything else until you receive an email invitation from us asking you to sign up for your Operoo account. After that, you’ll receive notifications whenever there is an electronic form to complete for your child’s school.
Powhatan County Schools will ensure that your or your child’s information is only visible to relevant teachers and staff and will be managed in accordance with our privacy policies. Details about Operoo’s security and privacy procedures can be found here: https://www.operoo.com/terms-policies-security/.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. You can visit the Operoo website for more information here: www.operoo.com. There is also a parent introduction page here: https://www.operoo.com/intro-for-parents/.
