At no cost to PCPS, first grade and multi-age classes at POCES had a lesson about clothing worn in the 17th and 18th century. An educator from the Frontier Cultural Museum in Staunton, Virginia, visited our classrooms to dress students in period clothing. Some students modeled the types of clothing the Pilgrims would have worn while other students wore clothing that would have been the style during George Washington's life. Here's a test of your knowledge about clothing worn long ago....Which hat below was called a coif?
