Cultural Activities at PMS - December and January
Cynde Liffick and her assistant Angie, Richmond Shakespeare, introduced two fifth grade classes to William Shakespeare and historical facts from the Elizabethan period on Thursday, December 1. After Richmond Shakespeare performed a vignette from a Comedy of Errors, all students had the opportunity to participate in a performance of Macbeth. Paige Anderson - Gifted Coordinator - PMS
On November 30, a 5th grade student, Annalee Reid invited her father, Andrew Reid, to speak about his Native American family and history to expand on the Social Studies SOL VS 2, the study of native people, past and present. This presentation included photos, artifacts, and even an opportunity to listen to a Navajo radio station. The students of Mrs. Parisi's, Mr. Morin's, Mrs. DeGroat's and Mrs. Llewellyn's classes were able to view the items, photographs, and videos and then have an opportunity to ask questions. This unique speaker was an excellent addition to our Social Studies curriculum.
