In the second quarter, the third grade students learned about Greece. On, November 26th, all third grade classes participated in the Greek Festival. This day involved the Olympics, an engineering lesson on creating a Greek temple, a mythology lesson, and of course, a feast of Greek food.
First graders participated in a "Native American Craft Day" during our "Past and Present" unit. Students learned about the lifestyle and beliefs of the Native Americans. Students made dream catchers and learned they believed these helped to filter out their bad dreams. They also made necklaces and deer skin while learning how Native Americans used raw materials for clothing and jewelry.
