School Attendance Area Variance Guidelines
At its January 9th meeting, the School Board approved a revision to its policy on school attendance areas. School Board members requested this revision to the policy so that parents may request a variance for their children to attend a school other than their assigned school. The variance must meet the following specific circumstances:
🧡 In-home before or after school care provided in the requested school zone; daycare that does not service the home school; or a documented hardship (i.e. financial, work schedule for which reasonable child care is difficult to obtain)
🚚 Residents planning to move to a new school zone, with a legally binding contract signed by all parties which is free of contingencies and to be completed within 90 days
Parents requesting this variance must provide transportation to and from school. Any parent that wishes their child to attend a school other than their assigned school must complete the variance request form and submitted it to their child’s principal for approval.
