The renewal of your Virginia school personnel license is a continuous process designed to ensure that you update your professional knowledge and skills. Take time to develop an individualized renewal plan based on your professional needs and goals. You should also consider the Powhatan County staff development priorities. Discuss your renewal plans yearly with your principal/assistant principal during your Annual Goal Plan meeting. Submit completed Individual Request for Renewal Points forms throughout your renewal cycle. When the time arrives for you to submit your renewal packet, you will be guided by one of your building administrators. You must complete the Individualized Renewal Record, provide the appropriate documentation of the renewal activities, and include a check (See Fee Schedule) to cover the renewal fee. Your building administrator works collaboratively with Mrs. Karen Horn, Director of Human Resources, to complete the packet that will be submitted to the Department of Education on your behalf.
